This edition has one headline act and a solid supporting cast. If any part of your business hires things out, the new rental booking system will genuinely change your week. And even if it does not, there are wins here for your phone AI, your automations, your ads and the app in your pocket.

    The big one · Rentals

Run rentals properly with the new rental booking system

Your account can now handle rentals as a first-class part of your business, not a workaround built from appointment calendars. A rental booking system is now built in, made for businesses that hire out equipment, vehicles, rooms, spaces or event gear.

You create a listing for each item you hire out, set how many you have, and price it by the hour, day, week or month. Seasonal rates, tiered pricing for longer hires, and security deposits are all supported. Listings can have variants too, like sizes or configurations. Your customers book through a public booking page that shows live availability, and they can book several items in one checkout, so a marquee plus tables plus chairs goes through as one booking and one payment.

Behind the scenes, inventory tracking stops double bookings across dates, every booking generates an invoice automatically, and a dedicated rentals calendar shows every booking across every listing in one colour-coded grid. You can filter by listing, booking status or payment status, add bookings manually, and block out dates.

What it means for you: if you hire anything out, you can now take bookings, payments and deposits around the clock without a spreadsheet or a third-party rental tool.

Where to find it: this one is switched on per account, the same way your service calendars were set up. Get in touch and we will turn it on. It then lives under Calendars, in Calendar settings, under Rentals.

    Rentals · Messaging

Send SMS and WhatsApp updates for rental bookings

The new rental booking system comes with its own messaging. Every rental booking event can now send an automatic SMS or WhatsApp message: booking made, booking confirmed, cancelled, rescheduled, a reminder before pick-up, and a follow-up afterwards.

You choose who receives each message, the customer or your business, and each message type comes with a ready-made template you can reword to sound like you. You can also send yourself a test message before turning any of it on for real customers.

What it means for you: fewer no-shows, fewer confirmation phone calls, and customers who always know where their booking stands.

Where to find it: in Calendar settings, under Rentals, open Global settings and then Notifications. Turn on SMS or WhatsApp for each message type.

    On your phone

Manage customers faster in the mobile app

The contacts area of your mobile app has been rebuilt from the ground up. The contact list is quicker to move through, with improved search, a smart list picker and swipe actions. Each customer gets a redesigned profile card that shows their details, owner and tags in one scannable layout, with editing one tap away.

The tabs under each contact were refreshed too. Activity, tasks, notes, appointments, payments, documents and opportunities are all cleaner, and tasks and opportunities now show counts on the tab, so you can see what needs attention without opening anything. You can search within a customer's details and edit fields inline.

What it means for you: checking a customer's history or updating their details between jobs is now a ten-second task on your phone.

Where to find it: update your revenu mobile app and open Contacts.

    Automations

Start automations when a customer uploads a file to your client portal

A new automation trigger fires the moment a customer uploads a file through the shared documents area of your client portal. That upload can now notify you or a team member instantly, tag the customer, and kick off the next steps in your process automatically.

This matters for any business that waits on customer paperwork: signed agreements, ID checks, insurance certificates, intake forms. The moment the document lands, your account reacts.

What it means for you: no more manually checking whether that document you asked for has arrived. The upload itself starts the follow-up.

Where to find it: in Automation, open Workflows, create or edit a workflow, and choose the new client portal file upload trigger.

    Your AI phone agent

Choose how your AI phone agent updates customer details

If your AI phone agent captures or updates customer details during calls, you can now control the timing. Set the update to happen during the call, where the agent confirms the change with the caller on the spot. Or set it to happen after the call, where the record updates quietly in the background and the conversation is never interrupted.

Confirming live suits details where accuracy matters, like a delivery address. Updating afterwards suits small things that do not need a back-and-forth, like noting a preference.

What it means for you: smoother calls for your customers, and customer records that stay up to date either way.

Where to find it: it is a timing option on the update contact step inside your AI phone agent's setup.

    Advertising

Check your ad campaign is ready before you publish

If you run your own Facebook or Instagram ads from your account, the review screen now shows a readiness score before you publish. The score checks four areas of your campaign setup: audience, budget, creative and tracking. Each suggestion links straight to the section where you can fix it.

It is a guide rather than a guarantee, but it catches the quiet setup mistakes that waste ad spend, like an audience that is too narrow, missing conversion tracking, or creative that needs work. It currently applies to Facebook and Instagram campaigns.

What it means for you: fewer campaigns going live with a hole in the setup, and less money burned finding out the hard way.

Where to find it: build a campaign in the ads area and check the score on the review screen before publishing.

Social media · From recent weeks

Compare periods in your social media reporting

Your social media reporting now supports custom date ranges and period-on-period comparisons. Pick any date range and compare it against the previous one to see whether your posting is actually improving results.

What it means for you: you can see in numbers whether this month beat last month, and which content is worth repeating.

Where to find it: in the social planner, open the statistics view and set your own date range.

    FAQs

What can I rent out with the new rental booking system?

Anything you hire out for a period of time: equipment, tools, vehicles, trailers, rooms, venues, event gear or spaces. Each listing has its own pricing, inventory and booking rules, and customers can book multiple items in one checkout.

Can rentals take deposits and seasonal pricing?

Yes. Security deposits are built in, and pricing supports hourly, daily, weekly and monthly rates, seasonal pricing, and tiered pricing for longer hires or larger quantities.

How do I turn rentals on in my revenu account?

Rentals is enabled per account, the same way your service calendars were set up. Get in touch and we will switch it on for you. It then appears under Calendars, in Calendar settings, under Rentals.

Do rental booking reminders work over WhatsApp as well as SMS?

Yes. Confirmations, cancellations, reschedules, reminders and follow-ups can each go out by SMS or WhatsApp, and you choose who receives each message. You can send a test message before going live.

Will the ad readiness score guarantee my campaign performs?

No. The score is guidance on your setup, checking audience, budget, creative and tracking before you publish. It helps you avoid setup mistakes, but campaign results still depend on your offer and market.

Does the AI phone agent interrupt the caller to update details?

Only if you want it to. You choose per update whether the agent confirms the change during the call or applies it silently after the call ends.
