This one is for everyone who has ever cancelled a paid booking just to change one detail. That workaround is dead. There is also a checkout upgrade that will quietly win you bigger jobs, the Android app plenty of you have been hassling me about, and a proper round of AI and automation smarts. What each one is, what it does for you, and exactly how to use it.
The big one · Service bookingsEdit a booking after payment, without cancelling it
You know the drill. Customer books a service, pays, then rings up. Can we add a treatment? Can I have Sarah instead? I forgot my voucher. Until this week, fixing any of that meant cancelling the whole booking and building it again from scratch, then explaining the mess on their payment history. Not anymore.
You can now open any service booking, paid or unpaid, and just change it. Add or remove services. Change the add-ons. Swap the staff member. Apply, update or remove a coupon. The total recalculates on the spot, and the booking tells you exactly where the money now stands: more to pay, fully paid, or a refund owing.
Here is how it works in practice:
- Open Calendars and click the booking, then hit the edit pencil at the top.
- Make your changes: services, add-ons, staff, coupons, details. Save.
- Check the Payments tab on the booking. The total has recalculated and the payment status shows what happens next.
- If more is owed, take the extra payment. If a refund is due, hit Process refund right there. The money goes back to whatever they paid with. No digging through transactions.

A couple of details worth knowing. Edits update the booking's original order rather than creating a new one, so your records stay clean and nothing needs untangling later. While a refund is mid-processing, editing pauses until it clears, though you can still reschedule. And editing is on desktop now, with the mobile app catching up from the week of 20 July.
What it means for you: customers change their minds constantly, and now that is a ten-second edit instead of a cancel-and-rebook. The money side sorts itself out.
Where to find it: open the booking in your calendar and hit Edit. This applies to service bookings, which I switch on per account, so if you are not running service calendars yet, get in touch and I will set you up.
Service bookings · PaymentsLet customers pay a deposit or the full amount at checkout
Until now, a service with a deposit was deposit-only at checkout. Customers paid the deposit, and the rest came later. Fine for some, annoying for others. Some people want it locked in for fifty bucks. Others hate owing money and want it paid and done. Now you can let them choose.
Flick on the new setting and checkout shows two buttons instead of one: Pay deposit, or Pay in full. Same booking, same price, their call.

The sleeper win is buy now, pay later. When a customer picks Pay in full, providers like Afterpay can finance the entire booking instead of just the deposit. On a $900 job, "four payments of $225" lands very differently to "pay $900 now". For higher-value services, that is often the line between booked and thinking about it.
To set it up:
- Make sure the service has online payments on and a deposit configured.
- In your service payment settings, turn on the payment choice option. It is off by default.
- Run a test booking and check both buttons show at checkout.
What it means for you: fewer people bouncing at checkout because the payment structure did not suit them, and bigger jobs made affordable through instalments.
Where to find it: in your service payment settings, for services with online payments enabled and a deposit configured.
Your appsDownload the revenu app: desktop, iPhone and now Android
The Android crew have been patient, and the wait is over. The revenu app has just landed on the Google Play Store. That completes the set: desktop for Mac and Windows, iPhone, and now Android. Your conversations, bookings, contacts, payments and pipeline, on whichever screen is closest.
If you or anyone on your team has been running the business through a browser tab on a phone, this is the week to stop. The app is faster, it does push notifications properly, and it does not vanish when you open one too many tabs. All three downloads live on the one page. Grab it, and send the link around your team while you are at it.
What it means for you: the full toolkit in your pocket on any phone, plus a proper desktop app instead of another browser tab.
Where to find it: revenu.com.au/apps, with links for desktop, iPhone and Android.
Your AI chat assistantPut a different AI bot on every channel
Your AI chat bots are no longer one-bot-does-everything. Each channel can now have its own bot. One on your website chat to answer questions and capture leads. A different one on SMS to confirm and reschedule bookings. Others on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or email, each with its own instructions, personality and job description.
Routing goes further than channels too. You can assign bots by customer tags, so anyone tagged VIP gets a bot briefed to look after them while everyone else talks to the general one. The rules are sensible: the most specific assignment wins, a bot assigned directly to a particular customer always takes priority, and two bots can share a channel as long as their tag rules differ. That is how you split traffic without crossed wires.
A setup that works well: general bot on web chat for new enquiries, a booking bot on SMS, and a VIP bot on everything for your top customers. Each one knows its lane and stays in it.
What it means for you: the website bot can sell, the SMS bot can confirm bookings, and your best customers get white-glove treatment, all automatically.
Where to find it: this one is enabled per account, and your existing bot carries over automatically so nothing breaks. Get in touch and I will switch it on, then you assign channels in each bot's deploy settings.
Your custom AI agentsYour AI agents can now run on a schedule and show their work
The build-your-own AI agents picked up four upgrades this week, and together they move agents from party trick to staff member.
Schedules. An agent can now run at times you set, without anything triggering it. Monday 7am summary of the week ahead. End of month wrap-up. Recurring jobs, handled.
Appointment triggers. An agent can fire when an appointment is booked, confirmed or cancelled. You pick which calendars it watches and which statuses set it off. Think an agent that adds a note to the customer's record every time someone cancels, or preps a briefing when a new appointment lands.
An activity feed. Every agent now has a running log of each job it has done and what set it off. Open the agent and the feed is right there. No more wondering whether the thing is actually doing anything.
Citations. When an agent answers using the knowledge you have given it, it now shows its sources under the answer. You can check where an answer came from before trusting it, which is exactly what you want before letting an agent talk to customers.
What it means for you: agents that do scheduled work, react to your calendar, keep a visible log and show their sources. Proper little employees.
Where to find it: in the AI agents area of your account. Open an agent and add a schedule or appointment trigger, and the activity feed sits on the agent's own page.
AutomationsStart, pause or stop automations when your team replies
Automations have always reacted when a customer replies. Now they react when your side replies too, and that fixes the most embarrassing thing in automated follow-up: the lead who keeps copping nurture emails while you have been texting them since Tuesday.
Three new pieces, all in the workflow builder. A trigger that starts a workflow the moment you or a team member responds to a customer. A wait step that holds a customer in place until someone on your team replies, with an optional time limit. And a goal event that jumps a customer straight past the remaining automated steps the second a human takes over.
The one to build first is the response-time safety net. It takes five minutes:
- Open your new lead workflow in Automation, then Workflows.
- Add a Wait step set to "until your team replies", with a 15 minute time limit.
- On the timeout branch, create an urgent task and notify whoever should have answered.
That is a response-time standard, enforced automatically. And on your nurture sequences, add the goal event for a team reply, so the moment anyone on your side jumps into the conversation, the automated messages get out of the way.
What it means for you: automation that knows when to hand over to a human, and no new lead ever sitting unanswered past your limit.
Where to find it: in Automation, open Workflows. The new team reply options appear in the trigger list, the wait step conditions and the goal step events.
Automations · AI editingEdit long automations by describing the change
Got a fifty-step automation and one thing to change in it? The AI assistant inside the workflow builder now does targeted edits properly. Name what you want changed and the scope, and it edits exactly that. Nothing else moves.
Real examples: “Update the SMS copy in only the first two steps.” “Set the sender name on all email steps.” “Swap the pipeline stage across the whole workflow.” One instruction, one pass. It shows you a preview of everything it is about to change before you save, so it never rearranges your automation behind your back.
On a five-step workflow this is a nicety. On the big ones, it is the difference between a coffee break and a lost afternoon.
What it means for you: maintaining big automations stops being a chore. Describe the change, check the preview, save, move on.
Where to find it: open any workflow and use the AI assistant in the sidebar.
Five of the AI tools in your account are free to use until the end of August. If you have been curious about the AI side of your account, this is the window to have a proper play without spending a cent. Ask me where to start and I will point you at the one that fits your business.
Also new recently
- Community automations. Four new triggers fire on member activity in your community: new post, new comment, event registration, and a declined join request. Follow-ups and moderation can run themselves.
- Polls in community posts. Ask your members a question and let them vote right inside the post.
- Todoist in your automations. Workflows can create, update and complete Todoist tasks, and react when tasks are added or finished. For teams that run their day in Todoist.
- File sharing notifications. When you share a file with a customer through your client portal, they now get an in-app and push notification, so documents stop sitting unseen.
- Buffer times on your calendar. Pre and post appointment buffers now show as visible blocks in day and week views. Toggle “Show buffer time” in the calendar's Manage view.
- Mark all social comments as read. One click clears the unread pile in your social planner's comments inbox.
FAQs
Can I change a service booking after the customer has paid?
Yes. You can now edit both paid and unpaid service bookings: add or remove services, change add-ons, swap the staff member, and apply or remove coupons. The total recalculates automatically and the booking shows whether more is owed, it is fully paid, or a refund is due.
How do refunds work when I edit a paid booking?
If an edit brings the total below what was paid, the booking shows a refund is due and you can process it directly from the appointment. Each refund goes back to the original payment method. While a refund is still processing, editing is paused, though you can still reschedule.
Can customers choose between paying a deposit or the full amount?
Yes, for services that have online payments enabled and a deposit configured. Turn on the new payment choice setting and checkout shows both options. Paying in full also lets buy now, pay later providers finance the whole booking.
Is there a revenu app for Android?
Yes. The revenu app is now on the Google Play Store, alongside the iPhone app and the desktop app for Mac and Windows. All three are available at revenu.com.au/apps.
Can I run different AI chat bots on different channels?
Yes. Each channel, like SMS, email, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and web chat, can now have its own bot, and you can route by customer tags as well. This is switched on per account, so get in touch and we will enable it. Your existing bot carries over automatically.
Which AI tools are free at the moment?
